With the incredible support of Tree Canada and The Brick we have been awarded a grant for $3,500 which will enable us to expand the orchard and replace trees that have been lost.

Adding more Bushes and Trees
50 berry bushes and 30 fruit trees will be planted in late August and early September. We will be planting more Haskap and Currant bushes and adding Saskatoon and Hazelnuts to our existing varieties. Additional apple, pear and cherry trees will fill out empty spots.

Spreading the Orchard
We will be spreading these plantings out across our various sites adding more fruit trees and shrubs to our People Garden and Lord Roberts Gardens - growing the orchard throughout the neighbourhood. Look for these new additions when out volunteering or enjoying the beauty of our spaces.
